Sr. Construction Project Manager
Big Sur construction is looking for a Sr. project manager that has 5+ years of experience constructing 50+ unit multifamily new construction and historic apartments. The ideal candidate has worked for a developer and can manage project deliverables, speed and quality. The project manager is responsible for day to day interaction between the owner developer/design team/construction team and subcontractors.
- Pre-construction/Take off/Estimation
- Buyout and budget
- Schedule management and optimization – creative schedule to open spaces fast. Be willing to work trades in parallel – Be willing to think outside of the box!
- Vendor and subcontract negotiation and interaction
- Materials and PO purchase
- Manage scopes, submittals and design iteration
- High attention to detail, process driven work ethic, and ability to hit deadlines and handle stressful situations.
- Positive attitude
- Please have a vehicle, cell phone and laptop. (office computer will be available as well)
- Preferences:
- Experience with 3A – 5A construction types
- Strong preference for project manager from a development company
- Multifamily or historic development background
5+ PM or senior construction management experience
Quick estimation + ability to bid scopes of work
Ability to set a realistic schedule and manage the team to stick to it
Ability to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
Speed and Quality are key
Computer skills: basic microsoft tools + MP is a must. Google sheets and sage is a great bonus.
